There are many places of great beauty on the island that only locals or seasoned visitors know about. From fairy tale mountain villages to beautiful, white sandy beaches. A paradise awaits those who want to escape from the commotion and traditional tourist attractions that never meet the expectations of a good traveller.<\/b><\/p>\n
Let’s begin with Palma<\/b>, the “Pearl of the Mediterranean”. The essential places to visit are Plaza Mayor, Avenida Jaime III and el Borne for some shopping in the traditional shops and small boutiques. And if it’s culture you crave, we strongly recommend checking out the Es Baluard and Palau March museums. And to really feel the city’s buzz: neighbourhoods like El Terreno, Santa Catalina and la Llonja.<\/p>\n

Pollen<\/b>\u00e7<\/b>a<\/b> is located in the northern part of the island. A small town with beautiful narrow streets and an impressive main square surrounded by delightful outdoor cafes. The town’s beautiful Romanesque bridge, Pont Roma, crosses a stream to the north of the town and is still in use today.<\/p>\n
Staying in the north of the island we have Cap de Formentor<\/b>, where the Serra de Tramuntana meets the Mediterranean Sea. The landscape is out of this world from places like Mal Pas and the Talaia d\u00b4Albercutx Tower.<\/p>\n

Dei<\/b>\u00e0<\/b>, a small coastal town in the northwest is perched on a ravine at the foot of the Teix Mountain. It’s possible the most beautiful on the island and has attracted artists, bohemians, dreamers and creative souls for many, many years. The English novelist Robert Graves was one of the first foreigners to settle in the village.<\/p>\n
If you want to soak up the atmosphere of an authentic fishing village, you can’t afford to miss out on a visit to Felanitx<\/b> and Portocolom, one of the most attractive areas in the southeast corner of Majorca. Its name comes from the discoverer Christopher Colom.\u00a0 A mix of history and tradition waiting to be discovered in this coastal enclave…<\/p>\n

If you are looking for scenery and mountain in its purest state for hiking or cycling, the place you want to head towards is Orient, a small village next to Puig de Alar<\/b>\u00f3<\/b>. The village only has about 40 houses and around 20 inhabitants, but they serve the best roast suckling pig on the island.<\/p>\n
More nature in its purest form: Sa Dragonera<\/b>. The small island was declared a natural park in the 1980s, and it’s a place you’ll never want to leave. It’s in San Telmo, about 10 minutes west of Puerto de Andratx.<\/p>\n

To finish up for today our last tip for those searching a romantic Mediterranean setting: Cala Figuera<\/b>. A place that takes you back in time to what Majorca was like before the tourism boom.
