It attracts people from all places. This event unites various performing arts such as opera, music, dance, circus and theater. It is worth mentioning that this type of events and festivals make monuments such as the Roman Theatre regain value and interest among people.<\/p>\n<p>For this edition, a photo exhibition was put together about Augustus in Augusta Emerita at the National Museum of Roman Art. We should also mention that this edition exclusively uses two other rehabilitated Roman theaters of Extremadura (Teatro Romano in the ancient city of Regina and the recently recovered Teatro Romano of Medellin).<\/p>\n<p>The event features the participation of the likes of Pepe Viyuela, Miriam D\u00edaz Aroca, Javier Gurruchaga, Marisol Ayuso, Marcial \u00c1lvarez, Pep\u00f3n Nieto, Anabel Alonso\u2026 all of whom guarantee brilliance on stage.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8090\" alt=\"2014-08-13-festivalmerida2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bluebayresorts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-08-13-festivalmerida2.jpg\" width=\"629\" height=\"350\"><\/p>\n<p>dates back to the years 15 and 16 BC, and after construction it underwent several renovations. The most important of these was between the first and the second century when the current facade of the theater was erected. Many years later, when Christianity was in full development, the concept of theaters was unfortunately not the same, as they were seen as immoral, and it was decided that they would be buried underground. Later, in 1910, it was recovered to hold all kinds of events such as the Festival of Classical Theater.<\/p>\n<p>This is a great event to visit if you&#8217;re staying at <strong>BlueCity M\u00e9rida Palace or BlueCity las Lomas M\u00e9rida<\/strong>, since the theater is located very close to our facilities: 750 meters from the hotel BlueCity M\u00e9rida Palace, and 2,8 km from the hotel BlueCity Las Lomas M\u00e9rida. It is an extraordinary way to learn the fascinating history of Merida and spend a unique evening set in ancient Roman times.
