The rolling dunes are home to rare flora and fauna, lizards and rabbits. The water is shallow and calm, making it a great choice for families, and there are plenty of cafes and bars to enjoy along the strip, whatever the time of day or night.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hard to miss El Faro de Maspalomas, the lighthouse which dominates the sky line of the area. At 68-metres tall the lighthouse alerts seafarers to the coast and also guides visitors to the upmarket Boulevard El Faro, filled with bars, restaurants and boutiques.<\/p>\n<p>Adjoining Maspalomas is Playa del Ingles, the biggest resort on the island, and the liveliest too.
